Briefing notes about the 2020 Teacher Appreciation and Support Programme (TASP) which includes October Teachers' Month (OTM); and the World Teachers' Day (WTD) activities.
The Teacher Appreciation and Support Programme (TASP) is a broad project which was launched by the Minister of Basic Education in 2015. TASP includes the National Teaching Awards (NTA), October Teachers' Month (OTM), and the World Teachers' Day (WTD). The OTM and WTD activities will be undertaken in October. October has been identified as a teachers’ month as the World Teachers’ Day celebration, an event which is endorsed by UNESCO is on 05 October of each year.
The 2020 October Teachers' Month activities will cover the whole month starting with the launch on 01 October and ending with a reflection session on 30 October 2020. The running order of the 3 programmes complementing OTM will be submitted closer to the events.
