MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya visited Mothomeng Primary school at Mothomeng Village in, Mopani West Education District to assess storm damaged

Mothomeng Primary has an enrolment of 501 learners and was one of the 127 schools that were affected by the storm. The storm damaged one block and this led to the merging of two classes and as a result, learning and teaching was affected. Before the intervention, learners had to be released early to go home. The Department of education responded swiftly by providing 4 mobile classrooms as a temporary relief.

The department will on Friday deliver furniture, which will be double combination desks for the four mobile classrooms.

The School Governing body has applauded the swift intervention, and they believe it will go a long way in ensuring that learning and teaching continue without disruptions.
