MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya handed over 10 school buses and 23 vehicles for administrative purposes to 10 special schools.


Minister for Basic Education Angie Motshekga proclaimed 2024 as the year for Inclusive Education and Mathematics.

Today Limpopo Department of Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya handed over 10 school buses and 23 vehicles  for administrative purposes to 10 special schools at Bana Ba Thari Special School, Capricorn South District.

The special schools that benefited from this initiative are Bana Ba Thari, General Piet Joubert, Setotolwane, Phatlhaphadima, Yingisani, Rehlahleng, Fulufhelo, Mhinga, Tshilwavhusiku and Thusanang.

The purpose was for learners to have access to quality Education.This investment in special schools will boost and improve the educational experience for the learners.

SGB Associations, South African Principal Association and Teacher Unions, said that they were happy to receive the buses and vehicles from the Department of Education, stating that it will make their work easier.

MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya aid that they are handing over the buses and vehicles as part of the department’s plan to enhance the accessibility and transportation capabilities of these special schools.

"Today we wanted to show the case that we can respond, no matter how difficult it is, to change the lives of those that are in need of government interventions," said MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya.
