Education MEC, Ms Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya Wishes teachers and Learners a speedy recovery


The MEC for Limpopo Department of Education, Ms Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, is deeply shocked to learn of the motor vehicle accident involving five educators from Selwane Primary School in Lulekani Circuit on Monday, 27 January 2025.

The MEC wishes speedy recovery to the affected educators who are Currently receiving medical attention at Private Clinic in Tzaneen.

The Limpopo Department of Education through its Wellness unit, is committed to supporting the affected educators and will provide all the necessary assistance to ensure their recovery and well-being.

In another separate incident, 17 learners were rushed to the hospital for medical attention following a bus accident at Mafefe in Capricorn South Education District.  The bus was transporting learners from Kgalema Secondary School back home. Investigations to determine the cause of the accident are underway.

“I want to thank the emergency services and medical personnel for their prompt response and care. Our wellness team will continue to monitor the situation in the two affected schools and provide updates as necessary." MEC Lerule-Ramakhanya said.
