The Limpopo Department of Education has learnt with sadness that 12
learners from Maseala Progressive School in the Capricorn South Education
district, were this morning involved in a car accident. At the time of the
accident, which occured at the Legae La Batho robots along the Nelson Mandela
highway outside Polokwane, the learners were traveling from their respective
homes to school in a minibus.
It is alleged that their vehicle was hit by
another private vehicle and overturned
resulting in one learner sustaining serious injuries and 11 learners sustaining
minor injuries.
All the 12 learners were transported to four
different medical facilities were they are receiving medical attention. 07 in
Seshego hospital, 02 Polokwane Hospital, 02 Mediclinic and 01 Netcare
Polosho.
The Limpopo Department of Education, MEC Polly Boshielo wished the
learners a speedy recovery.
" We are saddened by this accident and we
would like to wish the 12 learners who sustained injuries, serious or minor a speedy recovery. It is an unfortunate
incident and we pray for all to go well as they receive medical care.
It's quite
regrettable that our learners have to endure such an ordeal when they
least expected and should be at school.
We truly wish them a full speedy recovery so that they return to school
